The incoming form separates two costs
New Direction Trust Company publishes a form for moving funds and assets into an NDTCO account. The September 2024 version says the company does not charge a fee for transferring assets to NDTCO, while an annual administration fee is assessed after assets have been transferred in kind, subject to the form's stated exception for certain publicly traded assets liquidated on receipt. Confirm that this is the current form and that it applies to your account.
Cash and assets are different instructions
The form provides for full or partial transfers and distinguishes cash from in-kind assets. It requests details of the current custodian and the assets being moved. A full transfer is described as closing the current account. Before signing, verify whether the receiving custodian can hold each asset and whether your existing provider will charge its own fees.
Do not use an incoming form to predict an outgoing transfer
The document concerns transfers to NDTCO. It does not by itself establish the time, fees or conditions for transferring assets out later. Ask for the current fee schedule, any asset-specific paperwork, settlement requirements and a written estimate for your particular transfer.
What we did not test
We did not submit a transfer or verify an individual processing time. Keep copies of instructions, asset details and correspondence so you can follow up with both custodians.
