A specific schedule, not a universal price

An LPL Financial relationship summary effective 31 March 2026 for a particular advisory arrangement lists a $125 per-account fee for processing a full outgoing transfer of all assets and positions to another financial institution. That line excludes retirement accounts. It should not be treated as the price for every LPL account, partial transfer or retirement account.

Check your account's documents

Your account type and service arrangement determine which agreement and fee schedule apply. Before initiating a move, ask the current and receiving firms for their current schedules, whether the receiving firm accepts each asset, and whether holdings must be sold or transferred in kind. Check if fees may be charged by either firm and whether any account minimums or restrictions apply.

Make the transfer instructions precise

Compare the account registration and asset list on both sides, specify whether the request is full or partial, and keep a copy of the submitted instructions. If an asset cannot move in kind, ask about the alternatives and any potential tax consequences before directing a sale.

Our assessment

We did not initiate an account transfer or independently test the fee charged to a specific customer. Use the schedule that governs your account, not a figure copied from a different arrangement.
